Homemade Christmas gift tags

I purchased by Christmas paper in October from Paperchase but didn't buy tags as I usually print sticky labels however this year I decided to make some tags with my Cricut Explore.

These tags were made using Print and cut for the main images (penguin and reindeer from Create a Critter). I then cut the back layer from Kraft card. I changed the back layer so it was a mirror image and added in 'merry Christmas' using the all mixed up font with a pilot v5 pen.

I stuck the printed image to the tag using my Xyron sticker maker which really helped. I then punched a hole in the Penguins hat, and used some twine to thread threw. On the reindeer I experimented with the hold placement and each time it looked like is shot the reindeer but used the hole between its antlers.

I love how these came out and they look great on my presents.

My Next Sewing Project

Agh The Great British Sewing Bee has a lot to answer for! After my Wednesday morning viewing of last nights episode I want to make clothes desperately! Last week I ended up making a cushion cover and this week I've decided to make a dress from a pattern I brought last year.

This is a Simplicity pattern (1699) and looks such a lovely summery dress I think  with the current sunny weather I'll have lots of reasons to get this dress made.

I've purchased the zip, hook and eye and interfacing and hopefully will be getting my fabric tomorrow. All I need now is a cutting table lol but the kitchen table will have to suffice.

Having just read the pattern it looks complicated but I'm sure when I have the pieces infront of me it will make sense as the same happened with the pj trousers I made from TGBSB book.

Now just to decided tomorrow what fabric to go for! I was thinking grey or pink plain fabric but it would look lovely in a floral print (just have to ensure I pattern match ok)

Quick Refreshing Lemonade

To make 1 litre of lemonade you need:
A bottle or jug which will hold 1 litre of liquid and fit in the fridge (or you can chill it with ice)
Water
Juice from 4 lemons
100g caster sugar

Method
Boil some water and add a little to the caster sugar (enough to cover and dissolve the sugar, around 200ml will do)

Stir the boiling water and sugar until all the sugar has dissolved

Pour the sugar water into your bottle or jug

Pour the lemon juice into the bottle/jug

Top the bottle up with cold water to make up to one litre then mix (or gently shake if its in a bottle)

Chill in the fridge until you are ready to drink it. Best served with ice. (I have mine in a reusable Starbucks plastic frapachinno beaker filled with ice).

Best used within 2 days (ours lasted all of a few hours and then we had to make more! Yummy)
